Proceedings of Annual meeting of the Planning Council for the Department of Health and Welfare Branch Field Service of 1952 refers to further study of ‘placement of children of mixed racial origin’ and the inclusion of ‘the Japanese’ in provincial medical identity and hospital insurance cards as of 1 April 1952. File also contains Minutes of general sessions of Administrators’ and supervisors’ conference of 1948. Item 7 concerns “the eventual assumption of responsibility by municipalities of Japanese who gained residence during the evacuation” and the fate of Japanese Canadians in New Denver’s Sanatorium.
