| Scope and content |
This file contains a memorandum from the district forester P. Melrose concerning free use permits for Japanese Canadians interned at Kaslo, Greenwood, Tashme, New Denver, and Bridge River to take timber. Some timber lots were located within E.C. Manning Park, others were on Crown lands and some private property. The file contains maps of
the lots in question and correspondence regarding the cutting of cord-wood on these
lots. The BC Security Commission made requests to the Ministry of Land and Works for the free use permits on behalf of the camps.
