Reg. No. 08472
Greenwood, B. C. May 26, 1946.
Mr. George Peters, 506 Royal Bank Building, Vancouver, B. C. Dear Sir:
This is in reply to your letter of May 29th.
I agree with the price of $1,250.00 based on valuation issued from Ottawa on my property at 314 Mercer Street, New Westminster . But before I forward this Title to you I would like to know whether the payment will be made in full at the time of the sale. And secondly whether I could have the net proceeds forwarded to me directly and immediately after the necessary transactions are completed. Please give me a reply at your convenience.
Another thing I would like to make clear, at the same time, is about my other property at 1031 Royal Avenue, New Westminster . On this property I would like to get a net proceeds of $5,000.00 and not a cent less. If my request as to this property is not met at your office and is sold at a lowe price I will take the matter up to Court.
Your consideration and endeavour to meet my request to your utmost will be greatly appreciated.
Yours truly Reg. #08472.

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
