His family includes Kazuko Tamaki (father), Mitsu Tamaki (mother; nee Kiyoko Yoshinaga), Kiyoko Tamaki (wife), Atsushi Tamaki (son), and Hatsumi Tamaki (daughter). He lived in Chemainus, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Lemon Creek, BC and exiled to Japan 2 August 1946.
