                              <p>Shoultz and McCallum were charged with using a revolver to rob <persName ref="prs:stev100">Fred C. Stevens</persName> of $765 worth of money and goods on 9 October 1907. Stevens, who was visiting from Birmingham, England, wanted to visit <placeName ref="plc:vact1">Chinatown</placeName> due to "curiosity about this riot" and asked McCallum to direct him there. They went to Chinatown together and met up the next day. McCallum invited Stevens to his room at Dougal House where he and Shoultz violently robbed him. File includes handwritten notes and the Police Court transcript, including the examinations of Stevens, the proprietor of the Eagle Hotel, a witness, and three detectives. Handwritten notes indicate the accused were found guilty on 26 October 1907.</p>
