 [W]e have received word that it is reported, that authority to liquidate Togo Cleaners Limited of Victoria, B.C. has been given by Ottawa. In this connection we the shareholders of Togo Cleaners Limited, first, strongly object to this reported forced liquidation of the Company as it is contrary to our wishes and desires. Secondly, this reported forced liquidation is completely undeserved as the operation of our Company is in no way an expense to you now, or in the future, for the principal tenants are seeking long term leases which we are willing to grant. ... The chief shareholders of the Company are my wife, Mrs. Toyo Takahashi, and myself, and the balance of shares are held by my children. And in passing I would like to say that my family and myself are long and old residents of Victoria, B.C. and have established a reputation both in business and in public service.
