This file contains extensive correspondence between W.J. VanDusen, President of the H.R. MacMillan Export Company, and H.R. MacMillan. This file, as well as theW.J. VanDusen files from 1941 and 1940, demonstrate the continued influence of H.R. MacMillan within the export company (e.g., he is provided with minutes from meetings). Within the file is evidence of continued contact with Timber control (Rosenberry) and the export company, even after H.R. MacMillan's leave from that position, as well as interest in the Cowichan Lake area and relations with the C.P.R. Also included is a letter regarding a German employee named Henry Marsh of the export company and how he, as an "enemy," was dealt with.
