Henry Angus

Henry Forbes Angus (born 19 April 1891 in Victoria, B.C.; died 17 September 1991) was a professor of economics, political science, and sociology at the University of British Columbia, publishing extensively on immigration, international trade, and discrimination against Asian Canadians. He was a member of the Rowell-Sirois Royal Commission on Dominion-Provincial Relations from 1937-40, was part of the Standing Committee on Orientals, and served from 1940-1945 as an Executive Assistant in the Department of External Affairs. In his role in External Affairs, he stood alongside H.L. Keenleyside as one of the key figures in the bureaucracy advocating for just treatment of Japanese Canadians. (Source: Kimura Appendix)
