His family includes Tatsuno Hirano (mother), Masaji Hirano (father), Sumiko Hirano (wife; nee Sumiko Hiraoka), Masato Hirano (son), Kishio Hirano (son), and Kayomi Hirano (daughter). Steveston, BC and Eburne, BC are listed as former addresses. He was forcibly uprooted to Vernon, BC and was exiled to Japan on 31 May 1946.
