He was born on 20 November 1882. He was a farmer. His family includes Tomi Kayano (mother), Genjiro Kayano (father), and Tsune Kayano (wife; nee Tsune Tashiro). He lived in West Summerland, BC and was exiled to Japan on 2 October 1946.
