His family includes Kazuko Kira (wife; nee Kazuko Kawagoe), Hanzo Kira (father), Miyo Kira (mother; nee Miyo Kawagoe), Yoko Kira (daughter; in Japan). His home address is listed as 921 East Cordova Street, Vancouver, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Sandon, BC and exiled to Japan on 17 June 1946.
