He was born on 31 March 1930. He is also listed as Tomiharu Maekawa. His family includes Tamaye Maekawa (mother; nee Tamaye Kariya) and Chiyotaro Maekawa (father). He was forcibly uprooted to Lemon Creek, BC and was exiled to Japan in 1946.
