He was born on 18 January 1906. He was a boom man employed by Powell Lumber Company, Vancouver, BC. His family includes Kesa Matsubara (mother; nee Kesa Hazushi), and Takichi Matsubara (father). His home address is listed as 202 Main Street, Vancouver, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Tashme, BC and he was exiled to Japan on 31 May 1946.
