Norman McLarty

Norman Alexander McLarty (born February 18, 1889 in St. Thomas, Ontario; died September 6, 1945) was a Liberal politician, MP for Essex West, and wartime cabinet minister. McLarty held the position of Minister of Labour from September 1939 until December 1941 and the Secretary of State portfolio from December 1941 until April 1945. As Secretary of State, McLarty was the titular "Custodian of Enemy Property", although many of the responsibilities of that office were held by bureaucrats E.H. Coleman and G.W. McPherson.
