She was born on 16 November 1883. She signed a letter in the file as Chika Uyehana, but the file also lists her name as Chiba Uyehana and Chika Uehana. Her family includes Tamayo Uyehana (mother; nee Tamayo Yoshihara) and Kunisaburo Uyehana (father). She lived at 222 1st Avenue, South Lethbridge, AB and was exiled to Japan on 24 December 1946.
