Mansuke Tanino
Tanino was born on 13 February 1889. He was a fisherman. His family includes Chiyo
Tanino [also, Chio Tanino] (wife; nee Chiyo Kawasaki or Chio Kawasaki), Mitsuyo Tanino
(daughter; born on 26 July 1927), Yoshiko Tanino (daughter; born on 11 May 1931),
Asako Tanino (daughter; born on 28 March 1933), and Tomiko Tanino (daughter; born
on 29 August 1936). He lived in Brechin, Nanaimo, BC, was forcibly uprooted to Lemon
Creek, Slocan, BC, and was exiled to Japan on 02 October 1946. His listed seized property
includes: one-storied five-room dwelling house built by Tanino on land at Ormond’s
Wharf (formerly Koyama Wharf), Brechin, Nanaimo, BC owned by Howard Ormond; household
belongings; fishing equipment; boat “M.T.”
