Scope and content
Rex v. Humchit was a murder trial. Humchit was accused of the murder two Japanese fishermen, Matsuzo Takamoto and Sizo Takamoto, at Rivers Inlet, on 10 July 1900. During depositions, a witness recalls that the alleged murder took place near the Good Hope Cannery; another testified that the dispute was over a net owned by the Japanese men.
