Scope and content
Crown Brief Rex (Sidney Bliss) v. William Paton and Clifford J. Schenck; Charged with assault with intent to steal against Harukichi Kanamaru. The accused were caught robbing him at gunpoint in his grocery and confectionery store at 1630 Kingsway street in South Vancouver on 11 February 1920. Kanamaru testified that his wife and baby were present during the robbery. A third assailant escaped. Handwriting on the Crown Brief cover page says "plea guilty 2nd count" and "suspended sentence."
