Scope and content
This record is an invitation to purchase surplus military vessels at an auction held at the Esquimalt dockyards in 1945. On the reverse side of the invitation is a list of vessels that are for sale. All ships on the list (“Crest”, “Departure Bay”, Early Field”, “Moresby III”, “Comber”, “Seiner”, “Spray” and “Western Maid”) were previously owned by Japanese Canadians with the exception of the HMCS “Sea Wave”.
