Scope and content
This file consists of two documents written by Mr. G McGeer to Prime Minister Mackenzie King. The first document is a memorandum McGeer wrote to Mackenzie King called “Prosecution of the War.” McGeer recommends evacuation and internment of Japanese and Japanese Canadians. In the second document, McGeer describes the “handling” of the "evacuation" of Japanese Canadians as an example of “Bureaucratic incompetence.”

McGeer, Gerald Grattan, 1888-1947 created this archive from his time as an MLA representing Richmond, mayor of Vancouver, and a Senator. This material was given to the archives in 1950 by Mrs. McGeer.
