This series comprises seven files containing various correspondence related to Lord Simon and the following: material relating to Lord Simon's examination of Rudolph Hess; material relating to the inauguration of the Allied Governments' Maritime courts; copies of broadcasts titled "The Fifth Freedom" and "The Use of the Word Empire"; material relating to the Vinerian Professorship of English Law at Oxford University; and material mainly relating to the General Election in 1945 with papers concerning the restoration of the Libraries of the Inns of Court.

Simon John Allsebrook created this archive from his career as a politician. This material was given to the Bodleian Library from 1979 to 1999.
