Campbell River, Jan. 5th 43.
Dear Sir:-
Could you give me any information about the Japanese fishing boats, if there is any left, and on what terms they can be purchased? Would like a Cod boat about 34’. Have been alternatly [sic] logging and salmon trolling for the past five years, and would like to go fishing steady, as I’ve an old injury from the woods that gives me trouble lately. Hoping to get some advice on this matter. I remain
Yours

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
