Department of Fisheries
Vancouver, B.C., Canada
Dear Sirs:
I am interested in purchasing a troller and understanding that there are a number of these boats which belong to Japanese evacuees tied up in British Columbia waters.
This is to ascertain whether or not there is any means of buying one of these craft either from the Japanese evacuees or the provincial government.
Thank you for your attention. May I please hear from you soon?
Respectfully,
Stephen Ross

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
