This series comprises ten files pertaining to the following topics: restrictions on
guns, radios, and cameras for Japanese Canadians; the Japanese treatment of POWs and
citizens in Hong Kong during WWII; the forcible uprooting and relocation of Japanese
Canadians across Canada; Japanese Canadian labourers and work camps; non–Japanese Canadian protests on Japanese
Canadians being forcibly relocated to their communities; war-time treatment of Japanese
Americans; the seizure and forcible liquidation of Japanese Canadian–owned real estate;
denial of Canadian citizenship and nationalization rights and claims; protests from
Japanese Canadian veterans; the forcible exile of Japanese Canadians to Japan; conditions for Japanese Canadians in southern Alberta; and Ian Mackenzie.
