She was born on 4 September 1922. Her family includes Tsuma Nishii (mother; nee Tsuma Kikuchi), and Oyomatsu Nishii (father). Her home address is listed as P.O. Box 76, No. 37 Phoenix Cannery, Steveston, BC. She was forcibly uprooted to Greenwood, BC and she was exiled to Japan on 2 August 1946.
