Selkirk, Man.
Sept. 10th, 1944.
File No. 4524
Custodian's Director,
Vancouver, B. C.
Dear Sir:
Re your letter of Aug. 19th, 1944. I am never been contented of the price that you had sold of my properties except
the boat "Awaji". The price on my farm was only about 1/9 (one ninth) of the real
value in the present time. I will request for the refund on those properties in some
day.
As since we came in this province I had a very hardship to keep on the living with
my family and could save nothing to pay the life insurance more over I had spent all
of my pocket money now. Even though the cold winter will come not long. Therefore
I request you will send me the total amount on the statement as soon as you can.
Yours truly,

Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
