Copy for Mr. Shears.
562 Dougall Ave., Windsor, Ont. March 12th, 1945.
R G Bell Esq., Vancouver, B. C. Dear Sir:
Re: Files No. 495 and No. 485.
I visited my brother, Isami Okamoto, Reg. #09914, in Taber a while back and we both came to the conclusion that on account of the poor prices the Custodian's office was getting, in general, for property, we did not wish to have our property, two lots, sold.
Being Canadian-born we do not see any reason for having to sell our property, but if it becomes absolutely necessary to do so will you please let us know so that we can act accordingly.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Macer Okamoto - Reg. #10092.

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
