Mr. Heisaku Mochida,

Minto Mine, B. C. Dear Sir:
Sale of Prince Rupert property.
We are in receipt of your letter of the 26th ultimo and note that you protest the sale of your Prince Rupert property. This protest is being placed on record in your file.
The policy of liquidation was, as you are aware, decided upon by the Government authorities at Ottawa, and while we appreciate that the sale of any property is a matter of personal concern and may in some cases be contrary to the wishes of the owner, we have taken every possible step to secure fair and adequate prices.
Your request for remittance of balance of your account is being replied to separately.
Yours truly, Administration Department.
RGB/P.

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
