Your letter of July 19th has been received. The receipt for radio, which you sent to us, has been placed on
your file. This receipt reads as follows:
"11th February, 1942"Received from Hisajiro Shikatani of Port EssingtonOne only Marconi Radio Serial No.207One only Power Pak Radio A & B
It is our understanding that the articles described in this receipt are the same as
those described in Royal Canadian Mounted Police Exhibit Report No. 912, as
1 Marconi Mantel Radio Serial No. 207
1 "A" "B" Power Pack Battery
and that these are the articles that were turned over to the Custodian by the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police, and which cannot be located and are beleived to have been
stolen during a break-in at Custodian warehouse.
We have noted your request for recompense for the loss of this radio, but regret to
inform you that this office is not in a position to forward to you a cheque in payment
of the radio, as you have requested.
As firearms are in the possession of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and do not
come under the control of the Custodian, we are returning herewith the receipt for
rifle. We would suggest that you apply to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Vancouver, B.C. for the return of your Remington Rifle, Number 16264.
