Re:- File #10353
Dear Sir:-
I wish to acknowledge you letter of January 18th, 1947. In my present circumstances I have been obliged to make use of the cheque remitted to me. I must however, express my dissatisfaction with the manner in which your office has conducted the disposal of my real and personal property, with particular reference to the low price realized on the sale of my house at 1828 Pandora Avenue Vancouver .
I desire to record here that my acceptance of your cheque is in no way construed as an acceptance of a full and final settlement of my account with the Custodian.
Yours very truly,

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
