Re: File No. 8721
Dear Sir:
I received your letter (registered) of January, 16/47 enclosed a cheque and statement.
As I have written you before when you sent me the statement of the sale of my property July/44 and without consulting me first and which did not agree with me as the sales price was so small.
You say that you have accounted for all of the property of every kind left by me which vested in the Custodian.
Your last letter of the 17th August, 1944 informing me that there are small quantity of chattels still remaining to be sold, I have not hear what or how it was carried out and not stated to my credit. Why I ask this is because I had trusted Henry Sorensen. I have been double crossed by him, have lost most of my expensive farm implements and poultry equipment sign to his name.
I would like to have a new statement made out again with above mentioned chattels which was to be sold.
As my property is sold now I demand interest to my credit from January/43 to January 16/47.
I am hold the Title document and cheque till I hear from you.
I have not received the receipt for payment of my life insurance premium of last August.
Yours truly, #13776

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
