COPY FOR Mr. Shears
Grand Forks, B.C. August 16, 1947
Department of the Secretary of State,
506 Royal Bank Building Hastings & Granville Vancouver, B.C. Dear Sir:
I acknowledge receipt of your letter together with cheque for one hundred twenty-six dollars and eighty-nine cents, ($126.89) enclosed. I must say that I am not satisfied with the sale of the property also that I did not agree to the sale of same.
If this property was not sold, I would have had a steady income for a living but without this income I am forced to keep the monies sent me under protest.
Yours very truly,

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
