He was a World War I veteran. He was uprooted to Essondale, BC, and exiled to Japan on 17 June 1946.
At Essondale since 1931 so assumed Vancouver as location uprooted from; Ancestry lists Vancouver on original immigration and also ship passenger list from Liverpool to NY in 1919.
