This file includes various documents and pieces of correspondence—some of which pertains to the chattels of particular Japanese Canadian individuals, such as Rinkichi Tagashira, Toji Nishimura, and Orito Tamaru and Chieko Tamaru—and the Japanese Property Claims Commission hearing transcript for the claim of Kuniye Yada and Hideo Yada (case file number 54). Also included is discussion of the treaty of peace with Japan regarding its effect on the release of Japanese assets by the Custodian.
