This file consists predominantly of transcriptions of intercepted mail and phone calls, as well as content of censored correspondence, conducted by the Department of National War Services. Targets include Canadians of Japanese descent as well as traders in properties, such as J.H. Bloedel of Bloedel, Stewart & Welch Ltd. The file also includes a memorandum pertaining to the "repatriation" of Canadians of Japanese descent on the S.S. Gripsholm.

Shears, Frank Gould created this archive during his role as director of the Vancouver branch of the office of the Custodian of Enemy Property.
