Scope and content |
This file consists of various documents pertaining to Japanese Canadians in British Columbia. Included are newspaper clippings regarding the treatment of Japanese Canadians,
CCF publications denouncing government policy against Japanese Canadians, anti-Japanese
propaganda, reports on Japanese labour and the franchise, an excerpt from a 1940 report
of the “Special Committee on Orientals in British Columbia,” excerpts from the Young, Reid, and Carrothers’s “The Japanese Canadians,” an excerpt from H.L. Keenleyside’s “Orientals in B.C.,” and information on the numbers of Japanese Canadians in camps,
on sugar beet "projects," and interior housing "projects" in 1942.
