Scope and content
This file consists of agreements for the sale of a number of fishing vessels seized from Japanese Canadians in British Columbia to J.H. Todd and Sons. J.H. Todd and Sons acquired these vessels in the 1940s during the Japanese “evacuation.” This file also includes a list of addresses and names of sundry Japanese fishermen (formerly fishing for Inverness Cannery), a list of fishing vessels owned by J.H. Todd and Sons, a memorandum regarding gillnet boats to be released by the naval authority to J.H. Todd and Sons, select photographs of fishing vessels taken in 1942, receipts of J.H. Todd and Sons’s purchases from the JFVDC, and assorted correspondence and forms relating to the purchase of this property.
