This file contains records pertaining to the sale of the Fairview Buddhist Temple in Vancouver. Included are the following: records concerning property left in the Buddhist temple during the uprooting; discussion of the shipment of these assets to Japanese Canadian shareholders in Ontario; records documenting the mortgage on the property; lists of property within the temple; the deed of land; correspondence with the Custodian regarding property; records discussing Rev. Ryuchi Hirahara’s personal property stored at church; records documenting the purchase of property; correspondence regarding the use of temple for an elementary school; and vacating certificates.
Name of creator
Norris, Thomas Grantham created this archive during his time as a lawyer and donated it to the Legal Archives of B.C. in 1989. The larger portion of this archive was transferred to RBSC in 1990.
