Scope and content
This fonds comprises four series pertaining to the following: Kosaburo Shimizu—in particular, his diaries from 1942, 1943, 1944, 1946, and 1948 and his trips to Alberta "settlements"; the BC Conference of the United Church Committee on Japanese Relations; the work of W.P. Bunt and W.R. McWilliams to improve conditions for Japanese Canadians in camps; and numerous submissions and briefs drafted mainly by the JCCA.
Name of creator
Shimizu, Kosaburo created this archive as a minister of the United Church. This archive was "originally accessioned as part of the Japanese Canadian research collection. The Kosaburo Shiumizu material was then removed and processed separately as the Kosaburo Shimizu fonds."
Immediate source of acquisition
The digital copies of the records were acquired by the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective between 2014 and 2018.
