He was a cannery worker employed by Phoenix Cannery. His family includes Shizuo Hashimoto (brother), Fusae Hashimoto (wife), Yoshiaki Hashimoto (son), and Kiyoharu Hashimoto (son). He lived in Steveston, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Angler, ON and later 264 Maria Street, Toronto ON.
