He was born on 15 June 1896. He was a fisherman employed by BC Cannery at Port Essington,
BC. His family includes Iyo Shikatani (mother; nee Nakagawa), Kiku Shikatani (wife;
nee Hikida), Kimie Shikatani [also listed as Kimuye Shikatani] (daughter), Margaret
Sueno Shikatani (daughter), Masume Shikatani (son), Kenneth Mamoru Shikatani (son),
Dorothy Tatsumi Shikatani (daughter), and Shirley Kumiko Shikatani (daughter). He
lived at Box 37, Port Essington, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Lemon Creek, Slocan,
BC and Alberta.
