Nagata was born on 1 September 1914. He was a farmer. His family includes Kiyono Nagata
(mother; nee Kiyono Konishi), Kumazo Nagata (father), Mary Nagata [also listed as
Kiyo Nagata] (wife; nee Mary Sumi and Kiyo Sumi), and Violet Nagata [also listed as
Kimiko Nagata] (daughter; born 21 March 1943). His home address is listed as Port
Alberni, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Victoria College, Toronto, ON and to 96 Springhurst
Avenue, Toronto, ON. His farm was seized and sold to the Director of the Soldier Settlement
and Veterans’ Land Act. His other listed seized property includes glass from his greenhouse
and tools.
