His family includes Kikumatsu Yamashita (father), Korin Yamashita (mother), Yaeno Yamashita (wife; nee Yaeno Torii), Susumu Yamashita (son), Joe Yamashita (son), Roy Yamashita (son), and Machiko Yamashita (daughter). He lived in Chemainus, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Tashme, BC and exiled to Japan on 31 May 1946.
