| Scope and content |
This appendix contains a list of proposals and recommendations from various organizations
and citizens across British Columbia. Common requests regarding Japanese Canadian ask for Japanese Canadian labour, a
ban on fishing licences to Japanese Canadians after the war, and a prevention of their
return to coastal communities. For example, on 30 April 1942, Maple Ridge mayor Solomon Mussallem wrote to the Council: “the people of Maple Ridge will not
consent to the return of the Japanese to the district after the war on any conditions
whatsoever.”
