Scope and content
This document is the work diary of Trade and Industry Minister Herbert Anscomb. There are six entries addressing what Anscomb consistently refers to as the “Japanese problem.” Some entries mention concerns of citizens, others discussions between Anscomb and other politicians, and still others from employers looking to secure Japanese Canadian labour during the internment.

Anscomb, Herbert, 1892-1972 , prominent Victoria politician, created this archive which was donated to the BC Archives after his death by his friend Jane Hall.
