Dept. Bay Vancouver Is. B.C. Jan 22 1942
Dear Sirs
I have seen on the Vancouver Sun, your name as one of the men appointed on the committee for disposing of jap boats. I intend to go net fishing for grey fish, this summer and I would like to get one of those boats. I haven't got the cash right now, but I would like to know the prices and also what kind of agreements can be made, for a four to five ton boat a good boat, in good running order. If possible one with all the gear on it.
Answer as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Romeo Jean

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
