Scope and content |
This folder contains fairly voluminous records from December 1941-April 1942 of the
Department of Fisheries related to the Japanese Fishing Vessel Disposal Committee. During this time period, the Department of Fisheries was concerned with the establishment and operation of the JFVDC, as well as with the impact that the forced sales would have on salmon production
in BC. Included within are weekly reports of the JFVDC, correspondence related to the establishment of the committee, treatises to the Department of Fisheries regarding what should be done with Japanese Canadian–owned fishing vessels, and lists
of registered boats.
