Sirs;
Will you please send me information about the Japanese fishing boats that the government
has taken control of.
There are four of us here who would like to lease a vessel but would first like to
know; what is the price at which salmon sells, when does the season open, what is
considered an average catch, does one of the men on boats require a navigation ticket?
We would also like to know at what rate of rental the boats are let out?
Very truly yours,
E.E. Tinkess

Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
