Dept. of Marine & Fisheries
Dear Sir
I am intending to fish for Salmon this coming season & reading of the stopping of Jap boats from operating I was wondering if I could get the use of one of the 35 foot boats in preference to purchasing & what the rent would be would you be so king to give me all particulars. Boat with Diesel Engine prefered.
Oblige yours Truly
Chas. W. Smith.
Would it be against the Law for me to bring along 250 .3000 Savage Rifle

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
