Dear Sir:-
I am very much interested in the fishing business. I understand your Department might give me some light on the fishing boats which were seized from the Japanese aliens. I am very familiar with the West coast as I lived there for ten years.
I would be very much pleased if you could give me information how they can be leased or bought and I would be much obliged.
Yours truly,
Sgd. A. Seefeldt,

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
